On the 2013 Buick LaCrosse with the 3.6L engine, the P0014 is a fairly straight forward code pointing to a problem with the exhaust variable valve timing (VVT) solenoid for bank-1. This solenoid is used to advance/retard the ignition timing to provide the best possible fuel economy and engine performance for any given driving condition. The solenoid is located on the passenger’s side of the engine, towards the rear. Inspect the electrical connector and wire harness for any loose, broken or damaged wires. If no problems are found, replace the solenoid. Before solenoid replacement, it is highly recommended that the engine oil and filter be replaced.
